Dr. Ramesh Cherivirala migrated to Texas in 1993 after acquiring a Ph.D degree in Organic Chemistry. Ramesh joined New York Life as an agent in 2001 and became a Financial Services Professional within three months of beginning of his career by passing the Series 6 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination). He joined the management team in Houston as a partner in 2005 and was recognized as one of the top 50 partners in 2008, 2010 and 2012. During his career as a partner he passed the Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination), Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination), Series 24 (General Securities Principal Examination) and acquired the LUTCF® designation.
Ramesh decided to return to serving clients directly in 2014 as a Financial Adviser with Eagle Strategies LLC, a registered investment adviser and wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life. Since then, he has earned several sales recognitions such as Life AllStar, Life Superstar, life MVP and Annuity Champion within the company during his long career. In 2022, Ramesh Cherivirala was named as one of forbes’ best-in-state financial security professionals. He has qualified for one Quality Council (2005), three Executive Councils (2003, 2004, 2015), three President’s (2016, 2017, 2019) and three Chairman’s Councils (2018, 2020, 2021)*. He has been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Professionals (NAIFA) since 2002. He is also a member (2005, 16, 17 18 and 19) of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a premier association of financial professionals, recognized globally as a standard of excellence in life insurance sales performance in insurance and financial services industry.
For more than a couple decades, Ramesh has been known in the Houston community for his philanthropic contributions and community service through several Indo-American and Asian community (non-profit) organizations such as South Asian Chamber of Commerce (SACC), India Culture Center (ICC), Telugu Cultural Association (TCA), India House, Indo-American Political Action Committee (IAPAC), 80-20 PAC, Indo-American Charity Foundation (IACF), Telugu Bhavanam and Shirdi Sai Jalaram Mandir (SSJM) under various capacities. As a President of India Culture Center, he led the efforts of installing the Gandhi Statue in Hermann Park, was one of the three founding members of India House Council and represented the Houston Indian community in Bush and Clinton’s efforts to support Tsunami victims. He led the efforts to protect the Academies in FBISD multiple times and was a candidate for Fort Bend ISD Trustee.
Ramesh is from a rural village called “Enugal” in Warangal District and the state of Telangana in India. He migrated to Texas, USA in 1992 after acquiring his Ph.D. degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in synthetic organic chemistry. His two younger brothers and youngest sister followed him to the USA. He is married to Anuradha and they both have lived in Sugar Land since 2002 with their daughter Spoorthi (Senior at Dulles High School Math and Science Academy) and son Sushain (completed undergraduate from Carnegie Mellon and Masters from Stanford University, a recipient of New York Life foundation scholarship through National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test-NMSQT).
